Words

Here's the refrain from the most beautiful song I've ever heard. It's set to an old Nepali fiddle tune, and I first encountered it on a 1974 album by Jody Stecher.

"Leela Leela, this world is just a game,
Winners lose and losers win, the game is still the same.
Leela Leela, this life is just a play,
Those who say don't know and those who know don't say."

Zen is the teaching without words. Direct transmission from teacher to student. Direct apprehension of reality. And yet, as Katagiri Roshi said, "You have to say something."

Thus, this blog.
